Dear Savvy Woman,
I have always loved Jacklin Smith. Classy, direct, feminine.
I came across this quote by her recently, and I love the meaning it gives to more than just fashion and style, which was what she was speaking of in her In Style magazine feature.
“If you wear the latest style and it’s not your look, it shows up on your face. Nothing ages you faster than desperation.”
Well said, Jacklin!
And on so many levels.
My mind goes beyond the people we see dressing as if they were 13 all over again, but to the places underneath our exterior where we also ‘go against our style’.
The woman who continues to date the guy who drinks way too much for her taste, because she’s afraid there’s no one better suited for her (DESPERATION).
The wife who won’t let her husband go on the week-end fishing trip, afraid that he’s going to have fun without her (and she hates herself for this, because she knows it’s not true and it reeks of DESPERATION).
When we come from an authentic place, aligned with our deeper knowing and taking inspired actions from our Higher Self’s perspective, it’s simply, absolutely Transformational.
And, the look that shows up on your face - as you ‘dress’ to suit your style, is one of Radiance. Confidence. Relaxed.
